The Artless Dodger

In a meeting today with his commanders in Afghanistan, President Bush expressed his support and his… envy for the soldiers in a war zone. From Reuters :

"I must say, I’m a little envious," Bush said. "If I were slightly younger and not employed here, I think it would be a fantastic experience to be on the front lines of helping this young democracy succeed."

"It must be exciting for you … in some ways romantic, in some ways, you know, confronting danger. You’re really making history, and thanks," Bush said.

I seem to remember another war that Bush thought was romantic and just. It actually happened back when he was younger and not employed in the White House too.

Then as now, he didn’t actually fight , but he sure liked pretending.
