Hillary’s Hotel Bill

Feb 22nd, 2008 | By Josh | Category: US Politics

$25,000 on Bellagio hotel rooms are among the many expenses raising donor eyebrows. From the NYTimes:

“Nearly $100,000 went for party platters and groceries before the Iowa caucuses, even though the partying mood evaporated quickly. Rooms at the Bellagio luxury hotel in Las Vegas consumed more than $25,000; the Four Seasons, another $5,000. And top consultants collected about $5 million in January, a month of crucial expenses and tough fund-raising.”

What caught my eye was the enormous sum ($10 million) Mark Penn has billed the Clinton campaign. Political genius that he is, we’ve been showered with insightful comments such as:

“Could we possibly have a nominee who hasn’t won any of the significant states — outside of Illinois? That raises some serious questions about Sen. Obama.” MSNBC

That’s one way to shrug off 10 straight losses….

$107 million spent thus far on the Clinton campaign and no sign of the national race in sight.
